The Great American Eclipse - August 21st, 2017File:Total solar eclipse over Nebraska on August 21, 2017.jpg ... This month, people all across the MidWest will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see a total solar eclipse. Students at Russell Middle School will have the opportunity to engage in team activities revolving (pardon the pun!) around the eclipse. We are very excited that students will get to safely view the eclipse using special protective eyewear. The day's activities are sure to be 'out of this world!' As always, at Russell Middle School our students' safety is our number one priority. We have already previewed safe-viewing material with our students and will provide further instruction on eclipse safety prior to the event. Feel free to watch these three short videos, linked below, which will be shared with your students during science class! This August, people all across the MidWest will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a total solar eclipse. At Russell, along with the rest of the district, we are excited to take advantage of this event with some great learning and viewing activities.
