Cindy Pingel
Counseling Para

This is my second year with Russell Middle School as the Counseling Office Para.  I am honored to be a part of such a terrific school.

My husband and I have an 11 yr old son Chandler, that is attending Russell this year as a 6th grader. We are proud pet parents of one beagle named Macy and a yellow tabby cat named Sunshine (I had nothing to do with naming him). We moved to the Omaha area in 2012 from a  suburb of Chicago, where we lived for 15 years.  We are a family that loves the outdoors.  We enjoy fishing, hiking, camping and family game nights together in our downtime.  I enjoy reading and watching movies as well.  I am a crafty person that enjoys scrapbooking and refinishing furniture when time allows.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of our new new students and catching up with our returning students in the weeks to come. I wish our Russell staff, students and parents all the best this school year.  This year is going to be a great year!

Mrs. Mandy Farwell

Grade 6 Counselor

I am very excited to be joining the Russell Middle School team.  My husband is the Principal at Black Elk Elementary.  We have a 19 month old daughter and an 8 year old pug.  Both "children" keep us busy!  I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Kristy Fleming

Grade 7 Counselor

I am a Nebraska native and grew up in Lincoln.  I am married to Jeremy who is a 3rd grade teacher at Wheeler Elementary.  Together we have 3 children; Brayden, Brandt & Brinley as well as 2 chocolate labs; Mya & Macy.  Our family is active outdoors going swimming, fishing and hunting with a little gardening when the weather is right.  I love my job as a counselor because I feel it’s important for students to have a sounding board during the transition between elementary and high school.  These are important years of self-discovery and, at times, uncertainty.  My goal is to be an additional adult in your student’s life to help through the highs and lows of middle school.

Mrs. Stef Lorenzen

Grade 8 Counselor
715-8508
snlorenzen@mpsomaha.org

I am very excited to work with the 8th graders during my 6th year at Russell Middle School and 11th year with Millard Public Schools. My husband Ryan and I have four daughters who range in age from a toddler to a freshman in college. I enjoying reading, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

When are the counselors available to meet with students?

Students can meet with a counselor anytime during the day if they feel it's an urgent issue.  However, if the student feels they can wait, we ask that they come to the counseling office during your GSP time.
