National Suicide Prevention Month

During the month of September, Russell Middle School will be recognizing National Suicide Prevention Month and National Depression Screening Day. As a result, all students will participate in suicide prevention activities, led by the school counselors.  Students will watch a video about the signs of depression and suicide. Counselors will be administering a short screener to determine if students are currently experiencing signs of depression or suicide.

Rest assured that if there is a need for any parent/guardian contact after the students participate in the activities, your child’s grade level counselor will follow up with you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your grade level counselor.
