Welcome to Russell Middle School, Home of the Timberwolves!
Supporting the development of middle school learners within a safe, caring community is our goal at Russell Middle School. Middle school is an exciting new chapter for students, and we work hard to make sure that each student feels a sense of belonging and connection to their teachers and peers so that they can reach their highest academic potential.
Coming together as a community through service and spirit is important to us at RMS! Our students have many opportunities to lead in these endeavors, such as participating in our Student Leadership group, Russell Rowdies, or Volunteer Club. Caring for each other and using our gifts and talents to care for our larger community is a source of pride for our school.
Learning through collaboration, technology, and hands-on experiences all help our students to develop the skills that they will need to be successful in high school and beyond. In addition to opportunities to stretch academically in the classroom, our students benefit from numerous extension opportunities, such as Makerspace, High Ability Learner activities, field trips, guest authors, and challenging elective and exploratory classes.
Growing individual skills and talents while having the opportunity to explore new interests is a fun and important part of middle school. At Russell, students can participate in a wide variety of extracurricular clubs, music programs, and athletics. Our school’s strong and varied extracurricular programming not only gives students the opportunity to shine, but it also gives them an important place to connect and develop relationships with new friends and caring teachers.
I hope that you and your child have a magnificent experience at Russell Middle School during the very special years of young adolescence! If you would like more information about attendance at RMS, please contact the main office at 402-715-8500.
